Day 1 and 2 of Vacation- Easter 2010

Two hours after we planned to leave on vacation, we left our house. Where did two hours go when I was completely packed and ready?

We planned to stop in Provo for a potty break and grandparent visit. Grandma had eggs waiting for the girls to find, and since we were two hours behind schedule we were able to see all the family who was meeting for lunch and more hunting. Perks to being late! Every party needs some party crashers.
Needless-to-say, an hour and 1/2 later and then three and 1/2 hours behind schedule, we got a late start to a long day.

We skipped our traditional day at American West Heritage Center visiting all the new baby animals, and the Perkins Family golden egg hunt to start our drive to Anaheim. I was thankful mom had a special hunt for my ladies, since I bagged egg dying and hunting as well. They loved it! Thanks mom!

We settled in for the night at The Casablanca in Mesquite, hit the pool- AWESOME!,
Then saw Uncle Jeff who just happened to be there celebrating his Birthday.

The girls set out their Easter baskets in hopes that Mr. Easter Bunny would find them... and can you believe it, he knew where we were! He even left plastic eggs hidden all around the hotel room.

Next thing I knew, we were on the road again for the trip into Anaheim. The best part about two days of driving was listening to General Conference. It helped pass the time and the messages of the Savior and His resurrection were great. Those that I heard over "how many more miles Dad?", or "Is this California?" every five minutes, that is.

Grandma P had sent some money eggs with us on the trip, in lu of not celebrating the big Perkins hunt, so when we made it to The Quality Inn and Suites, Mick found a flower garden and hid some eggs for the girls to find. He had to hide them twice, as the first time he turned his back, they were picked up from some desperate-for-and-egg-hunt Disney Land stragglers. Liberty found the lucky Golden Egg! Thanks Grandma P for thinking of us!
We had just settled in for the night when fireworks erupted from Disney Land, so of course we had to go out on the patio of the hotel and watch. The little ladies peacefully fell asleep watching Cinderella, or some cute princess movie Mick brought along to pump them up for the next three days at Disney Land.
