Got Her Built!

Goal number two of the year was completed last evening just in the nick of time for today's snowshoe adventure with Marni. Mick worked his magic getting my lovely pulk up and running. I appreciate him being willing to help me. What a beauty she is!

Many thanks to Barbara for GIVING me a pair of old K2's only to have them sawed in half and "embellished". They worked wonderfully! Next I need to learn to wax. Either that or the snow was really sticky. Google should be able to teach me how to wax. Although I just realized if I were to type in "learn to wax" I might end up with the wrong How to Wax tutorial then I intend. Google can be tricky like that.

Abbie was the lone rider up Green Canyon this morning. Her 25lbs alone was almost enough to halt me in my tracks. Couldn't quite imagine hauling Liberty as well. I almost fell over on my first step out of the parking lot, as my forward movement in my upper body was not anticipating the delayed pull of my lower. Marni got a good laugh out of that one!

On our way down the canyon I had to flip the poles up, secure them and then push with the handle of the trailer, as our design of the pulley system attaching to the trailer was not quite as stable and the trailer would end up adjacent to me verses behind. A few glitches need to be worked out. Nearly every skier we passed, or should I say, that passed us- stopped to talk about this neat little contraption. I, however, asked them all about their cross county adventure, saw them cruising down the mountain trail with wind in their hair and knew immediately that I MUST learn to ski cross country. What fun I have been missing out on!

For this year, I will enjoy my snowshoes.

What a workout!!!

What a beautiful snow filled day full of good conversation out in the wilderness.
Ahh... I think I may survive winter after all.
