For the love of Brandi

Brandi Carlile's new album is out. She has a way with instrument and word to create masterpieces. Her music speaks to me and I find myself hanging on every word of her songs deciphering their ins and outs. Wish I had the gaul to write as frank as she does. She spells it out. Says it how it is. I appreciate her honesty in musical form. I wish I could speak many of her truths. Bravery seems to be lacking. For now, I'll let her say it for me as she does so well.

Coming clean
Means never closing curtains, I just change my scene.

And I will learn throughout my life to never lean on what will bend.

And you've drawn heavy handed lines around morality,
About yourself and I don't share your point of view.

It's been time to let you go a thousand times
You never know that it hurts to be the one that you'd regret.
I have to say that I am proud to know you and I'll never be the same because we've met.
