August is Crazy!

What a month! The past three weeks have been busy busy busy. I suppose that is why I'm now getting a cold. Too much going on and too much stress. My body can't keep up. It still has not lessened my love to be busy and have projects to work on.

Abbie has just received her 8th tooth and was a little mad because of it. She is getting to be quite the crawler and now pulls up to everything. Unfortunately, she has not figured out how to get down out of some tricky situations. This is when she starts to whine a little louder so I, or the nearest person, comes to save her. When I have not saved her in time, or she has felt confident in her decent, a few minor bumps and scrapes have occurred. She is fun to watch learn and grow. The poor girl has gotten my cold and been a trooper!

Liberty has been accepted to the 4&5 year old Lab for preschool. We could not be more excited. Teacher Farol(The best teacher, who took a year off) is back and going to teach Liberty's class. She is absolutely wonderful! Aspen adored her too. So, Libby starts school after Labor day and she can't wait. Every time we drive the road that takes us up to the University, she reminds me that her school is on the same road. I'm excited she will get to go all year. Only three hours in the day without Aspen at home to play with, is going to be rough enough as it is.

Aspen is going to be in first grade. I cannot believe my big baby is going to be gone all day long. Sure, her and I butt heads nearly everyday, but it will be strange to not have that occur until 2:30 in the afternoon. Crazy to think how much trust we place in our children and their teachers while they are away at school! Some times it makes me a little nervous thinking about it. I will probably miss her at first and then just as quickly start to enjoy life with two kids again. The dynamics are shifting! I'm so not looking forward to homework though- AWWWWWWWWWW! This is when the test of patience will begin...again.

Mick is applying for a new position at Comcast. We cannot decide if it would be better to stay where he is at for now, or take the new position if he is offered it. There are pro's and con's either way- with the pro's leaning toward staying where he is. If the pay was a significant change- that might sway us. Changing from M-F is a plus though. Hopefully we will feel right about the decision we make if he interviews well and is given the job. He seems to think one of his co-workers will get the job over him. So, we may not even need to worry about it.

Mick and I celebrated our ten year anniversary this past 14th. It is hard to believe. I remember as a newly wed looking forward to these milestones. Now that I'm here, I just feel so old! Can you imagine celebrating 50(well, some of you can)- wow! He and I will be REALLY old then. No, honestly, I'm so happy to be married to such a wonderful man. He truly does encompass the best qualities in our partnership. I don't know of anyone besides my mother and father who could put up with all of me for so long. I love you Mick, thank you for your love all these years...and the beautiful flowers! Are you on board for another 40?I've had some fun developments with the PinK fitness program, now that it is in its final phase. I will post an entry about it all soon. As for now, I'm still losing inches, 26 up to last Saturday, and reshaping my body with muscles I forgot I had since high school, and I love it! Bring back the high school figure, and I'll be sitting pretty.

  1. Kids grow up WAY too fast! So sad, so glad! Congrats on the anniversary accomplishment! I love that photo from your wedding, btw. Good luck in all your future endeavors, and thanks for the updates on your wonderful family! So glad we could see you so much this summer! It's been fun for both me and the kids.
