I look forward to summer for many reasons. Too many reasons really. But somewhere near the top of the list lies bike riding. I missed it a few summers when pregnant and it was then that I realized I LOVED my peaceful rides at sundown. I crave them. This summer I have enjoyed the company of Aspen. She shares in my love of wind in my hair powered by my own legs. Nothing like it.
I've enjoyed taking Aspen on a 5 miler around the west of Logan and down to the river. There is a peace that only the river brings. Under a canopy of trees the river trail keeps cool, naturally air conditioned and secluded, so that just for a moment I imagine I'm up in my beloved mountains enjoying all they offer. On our ride tonight Aspen took a deep breath and said "mmmmm I love the smell of nature". My sentiments exactly.
Combining nature, biking, a beautiful sunset, and my favorite five, I could not have asked for a more blissful summer evening.
Sounds like heaven to me! (but then anyone who's been to cache valley knows it IS heavenly :)

Sounds wonderful to me too!
ReplyDeleteI just had my hubby fix my bike and my sons so I am hoping to start riding again too.
I think it is so neat that your daughter shares and expresses her love of nature.
The simple things!
The evenings really have been nice lately!
