Liberty and I went shopping for her birthday outfit. This is what I usually get my girls for their birthday. It's good one on one time. Plus they get to feel like one-of-a-kind and beautiful in a new getup on their special day. First off, I detest shopping, but children need clothes and Liberty is so much fun to shop with. We tried on shorts shoes and shirts, as she modeled each outfit runway style in the mirror. She was having fun, but was not yet satisfied. Next she informed me that she wanted to wear a dress. "Well lets go look at dresses then" I said.
We went to Old Navy. Love their clothes and prices. Usually I venture back to the clearance isle in any store, and this trip was no different. Liberty and I were pleasantly surprised at the array of cute dresses. She tried on all ten gazillion styles. I loved them all. Cute dresses at a low price with a cute girl underneath, how could a mother go wrong.
For almost 8 months she has been wanting to go to "Chunky Cheese" We promised her we would go for her birthday. She had a fantastic time and was so excited to win tickets that would purchase a prize from the the prize wall. Unfortunately she wanted the barbie that was perfectly mounted on the wall for every little girl to desire. Libby had about three hundred tickets, the barbie was asking 2000. Who in there right mind earns 2000 tickets at these places? I'm sure it would take $2000.00 just to get that many tickets. Anyway, as soon as she noticed some lips (lip gloss) she knew she needed to have a tube and spent about 150 tickets on it. I smiled secretly.
We had a coupon, so Chucky Cheese wasn't too pricey, but I had to laugh at Mick's response about the afternoon. "Next year we should just order a $5 buck pizza and take the girls to Walmart and let them buy anything they want in the toy section". Maybe they'll even get to go on a ride in the Walmart arcade I thought! For some reason I'm not so sure that would cut it. Now Aspen wants to go to Chucky Cheese for her birthday. Here's hoping for more coupons in December of all months!
Liberty enjoyed having her cousins Carson, Jayden and Nicholas up for her big day. It was great to have more little people for the party. We wish we saw these boys more often. Many thanks to Grandmas, Grandpas, Cousins, Aunts and Uncles who celebrated Liberty's special day. Oh and all the presents...she is one spoiled little girl, or should I say well loved!
