Perkins Family Top Ten
in 2008
10) Mick remains thoroughly disgusted by another horrible year of Aggie Football. Coach Guy was fired, so Mick promises renewed success next season with a better coach. Tis the season for wishes. Maybe this one will be granted!
9) Jen answered an ad in the paper to participate in a fitness and nutrition focus group with Icon. She lost 32 lbs and 32 inches and helped film the promotional infomercial and workout DVD's for Pink Fitness(www.pinkfitness.com). Look for her on the big screen.
8) Aspen graduated kindergarten where she excelled as a top reader, and social butterfly. She participated in co-ed soccer where she scored 4 goals for the season, but made sure her parents knew that she “doesn't like sports”.
7) Liberty attended the 3, and 4&5 year old Child Development Labs at Utah State University where she has become a budding new painter, inventor of magic wands, dress-up showgirl and friend of the boys!
6) Abbie grew up in her car seat, literally overnight, while being carted around in support of her family and their crazy schedules. She will be walking soon, but is displaying normal developmental signs of growth such as swiping food off her tray, throwing fits and talking!
5) After a long hiatus, and as happy as a school girl on prom night, Mick came out of his basketball retirement to play with the old 'Tremonton boys'. Somewhere during his first game he went up for the perfect shot and fell on his way down. He's having knee surgery this December and hopes to enjoy his basketball career... next season.
4) Jen enjoyed many firsts this year: Life with three kids (busy but fun), free piano lessons, blogging- check us out here- www.memoirsofmommy.blogspot.com , Olympic weightlifting, meeting Mick's sister and her family, owning and using a Bosch Universal, doing voice over at a sound studio, having professional pictures and hair and make-up done all in the same day, a shopping spree at Nordstrom's on someone else's money, and many more wonderful new things.
3) On her second day of first grade, Aspen managed to walk home from school by herself, but got distracted following a friend. She played at Michael's house with his dog, took a local bus around town and to the transit center, was found by the school police officer, chastised by him and her principal, and rode home in the squad car to a terrified mother and father who wanted to beat her silly, but gave her hugs, love and tearful kisses instead. She continues to be independent.
2) Liberty caught her first fish this year at Fish Lake during the first annual Perkins family reunion. She wasn't nearly as excited about the little bloody thing as her parents were. One catch was enough and she was done. She is a content happy child who loves to do and try most anything... except river rafting down waterfalls. Word to the wise: the Portnef River in Lava Hot Springs is not for children, bathing them will become a difficult side affect.
1) Another year has come and gone. We are blessed. Good health, same address, older children, 10 years of marriage, same employment, a few fun vacations, and a great life we have together. Thank you for being part of it!
We wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Love the Perkins
