General Conference

Fingerprints

Sometimes you get discouraged
Because I am so small,
And always leave my fingerprints
On furniture and walls.
But everyday I'm growing up
And soon I'll be so tall,
That all those little handprints
will be hard to recall.
So here's a special handprint
Just so you can see,
This is how my fingers looked
When I placed them here today.
-Unknown-

This little ditty hung on the wall at my friend Sara's house. I recall reading it often when we would play in her living room. It was my goal to memorize it.

Today, at General Conference, our Prophet Thomas S. Monson, reminded us to find joy in the journey. That sentiment reconnected me to the memory of this childhood poem. Words are so powerful. They can leave a lasting impression on us- even years after we have read them. I'm grateful for the pleasant reminder.

  1. Priceless Poem! I love listening to President Monson, I always have. President Uchtdorf and Bednar are becoming some of my favorites now as well. Conference was truly awesome.
