This teaching moment occured yesterday

My job as a mother gets easier as older siblings take over my responsibilities. Most notably, it makes my heart happy to see one of my children lovingly helping the other take on a serious challenge, which makes it okay for me to miss the fun opportunity to be stable ground.

It gives me a glimpse of the future...when I am out of the picture and they have only each other to lean on. My hope is that they always realize how lucky they are to have a with-you-through-it-all buddy. Now while learning to bike, and then, when one babysits the others kids while the other takes her newest biker to the ER with a broken arm. The future is looking bright! Today I give myself credit for all the times I said or annoyingly raised my voice crying,
"jeez, help your sister"!

My work is paying off in dividends. To all you mothers out there- there is fulfillment in repetition. Deep fulfillment- trust me.

  1. Hahaha. I love that Libby isn't even paying attention to the sidewalk because she's too busy smiling for the camera.
