Deep Canyon

Rejuvenation is the repeated gift I receive when I can get out in nature.
Life keeps me home and indoors more than I desire.
Nature requires time and ease.
Both of which a mother can only dream of.

But I try to go out anyway.
I need it.
I crave a good walk in the woods.

Peace, green, life buzzing around me, wildflowers, sites and sounds of birds.
Circles of tall grass bedded down where large animals had spent their last siesta.
No threat of snakes (visible) and no evidence of bears,
just fresh air and landscape lifts my spirit and makes me happy.

Deep Canyon located in the Wellsville Wilderness area was just what I needed.
Thanks to Pam for the beautiful suggestion on a hiking trail,
and for conversation and fun.

We never made it as high as the peaks overlooking Cache and Box Elder Counties.
Schedules, schedules!
But it was rewarding enough to be nearly 3000 ft above all the business of the valley in a calm place, outside the walls of my home, eating fresh wild raspberries and knowing my babe was well taken care of by Aunt Tawna.

  1. What a fantastic trail! I am so sad I didn't see you at Bear Lake or the race. Those berries look delicious!
