Six

Six years ago this very day was marked with a big X on my calendar. It was Due Day round two. Puking near daily for nine months had me wishing for 48 hours to fit into 24. Time snailed along despite my pleadings til my belly grew rounded and ready.

May 1st arrived with a tense heavy body. I made The Call to mom that it was Labor Day. Sure enough, hours later- no baby, no broken water, no active labor. Mom arrived anyway. Exhausted from laboring off and on all day, I collapsed in bed, uncomfortably, at midnight. 12:05 am hit with a mighty tightening. Almost two minutes later, another whammy. Hospital time.

Fast forward to 9:46 am, because who really cares how much the labor hurt, what Magnesium Sulfate does to humans, epidurals, or slice or no slice, because Heaven arrived via the birth canal and was lying in my arms two days early.

Liberty has been a slice of heaven ever since.

Thanks everyone for your support of miss Liberty. For those that made the party, we loved having you and appreciate you helping Lib to feel special on her birthday. For those of you who missed the celebration- she missed you, and asked about each of you by name. She also loved her singing telegram from cousins Nick and Carson- thanks for the phone call, it made her day!
