Mick and I loved San Diego. The people, the lifestyle, the beach, the trees- the fresh air rolling in off the ocean. We could live there.
Liberty loved the penguin, fish and turtles.
Aspen loved feeding and feeling the Manarays.
Abbie liked all the random birds that would land around us, and the seal and sea lion show.
Mick was a fan of Shammu and amazed by the speed and strength killer whales possess. He wanted to go to a second show so badly.
I loved 'Biff' the actor who was part of the sea lion and seal show- he was by far the funniest comedian/actor, I have ever seen live. A trip to Sea World is worth it for Biff alone. Laughed my head silly! The Sea Lion and Seals were awesome too.

San Diego Zoo was a beautiful hilly place. Before we got there, we were all worn out, tired and at each others throats. A day at the beach would have cured it all but I figured our previously purchased tickets had better be used.
Aspen had to see Koala and Polar Bears- the real ones of course.
Liberty's requirement was to see the Zebras and Giraffes.
Abbie was whinny and not much fun the whole day, so I'm not sure if she liked the monkeys, but I know she acted like one. Maybe she was more like a hissing cockroach. It's a toss up, but she kept her eye on the elephants for a few seconds and speared an ancient cougar.
My favorites were the Pandas, aviaries and my sky ride with Aspen. I'd be a birder in my spare time. Spare time? That reminds me why I haven't gotten into birding.
Mick told me birds aren't very exciting. He likes the killer animals- like crocodiles. A short while after exiting our last aviary, I couldn't help but notice a nice runny blob of white goop cascading down Mick's blue T-shirt. Yep, Mick was the lucky target this time. Maybe the birds had ESP. Wish I had taken a picture of Micks souvenir poop. Got him as a hot zoologist instead.
Last stop- the hotel pool and hot tub to gear us up for the next days 14 hour ride home! Ironically, Abbie was the best behaved in the van. During the drive, I'll bet she thought she'd live to turn twenty in her car seat.
Oh, how I love the pics! There are some fabulous ones! What a fun fun fun vacation you all had! I'm glad you had a great time!!! Thanks for sharing all your memories!
