After reading this post on Segullah and hearing an old song that took me back to a day, it got me thinking.
First off, what qualifies as a crush? Is it the constant thought of someone, but never the ascertaining of said person? Or maybe the secret longing, flip of the stomach sensation that one gets caught up in while pursuing the eye of a certain person who just so happens to turn their eye to FINALLY notice?
Basically does a crush qualify as one who gets caught on the hook for a fleeting second before he slips through the fisherman's grasp and swims down stream with the rest of them, or does he stay alive flopping in the cooler with vitality for a while until eventually dying? Possibly both examples apply.
Crush, as described by this online dictionary either means a hard blow, or an object of temporary infatuation. Sounds like a daters life to me. Often the crush (IE: temporary infatuation) leads to a crush (IE: hard blow) I have many said stories, that are nostalgic to say the least, but three in which to share. One, where the fish got away, one where the fish stuck around for a while in the cooler, and one who baited me in, hook, line and SINK(HER)! Interestingly enough, these three happened simultaneously in my life.
First up is cooler boy, Chris Titus. Second is Dustin Ivory, the fish who got away. Third is Dainon Moody, bait(her) boy.
Stay tuned...
