Easter 2009 (picture fest)

We had a great Easter that stretched from Friday to Sunday. We could not have asked for better weather!

Friday we dyed eggs. Aspen and Liberty had a great time, especially with the shrink wrap decorating skin that we blow dried to their beautifully dyed eggs. As for Abbie, she was content riding in her car.

Saturday we headed for the hunts at Albertson's and the mall. Even Abbie got in on the fun! She was a cute little hunter and picked up more than I thought she might, but was severely distracted by the many balloons lying around. Her basket used to be mine as a child. I love that basket!

Next it was off to Baby Animal Days at the American West Heritage Center. This is a Perkins annual tradition that the girls just LOVE!!!

Ducklings and bunnies
My favorite part of the day was watching Abbie surrounded by miniature goats. At one point she became levitated by one that slipped between her legs! The whole time she would giggle and ooo and ahhh. Oh yes, and yank on their hair before I reminded her to be soft. She was in heaven with those goats. Just her size.

Liberty loved the not so baby snakes, and the little baby turtles.

Then it was off to the Perkins in Tremonton for the golden egg hunt and look who was victorious.

Ironically Mick found one of the two golden eggs in the cable box that he installed outside his parent house. This find is worth a pretty penny! Hooray for Mick.

Then the first annual marshmallow eating contest where I had to forfeit because laughter caused my cheeks to flatten and spew my marshmallows out. Kala made me laugh too hard. Check out her monkey cheeks! She was a winner.
Then the kids got in on the fun. Libby was content swallowing hers instead of stuffing.

Aspen and Ammon were the big winners out of the kids!

Sunday we found hidden Easter baskets in the house and our dyed eggs that the Easter bunny hid in the yard. Next we headed to church with the girls looking pretty in polka dots, courtesy of the Easter Bunny. Or pocka boats or topa dots...we have several names for them at our house.

We took advantage of the sun on Sunday and headed up the canyon for a walk up the river trail. It was a splendid day.

Now it is snowing...again.
