Logan City

I'm thoroughly disgusted with Logan city elected officials and their high society we-are-better-than-you attitude. Living on Cliffside has no baring on how great you are. How much money you make and spend has no baring on how great you are. Why do people not get this important realization? If there is one attribute that I despise in people, it is pride compiled with pompousness. A very deadly mix. I voted in favor of Randy Watts, our Mayor. I believed he was different from the pompous no good officials of the past even if he did live on Cliffside. I believed he would make the right decisions that I could support as his constituent and neighbor. I believed that he had my back. Apparently I was dead wrong.

There is a big to-do about park strips going on in our city. What are park strips you might add- They are the area between the city road and side walk. Most neighborhoods have them. If you don't have one and live in Logan- consider yourself one lucky son of a gun. You are now exempt from dealing with our lovely politicians and their absurd mandates.

Two school districts in the heart of (old) Logan are currently getting their park strips ripped out and turned into what ever else the property owners (who mind you- do not own the park strip) are willing to pay for and maintain. This affects us. What a great deal uh! How blessed we are! We have an extension off of our single lane drive way that allows us to pull into our driveway off a busy, shall I repeat- BUSY road. Sure, we bought the house we knew of the busy road, I can accept that, but now they are threatening to take away our extra space because 10 years ago Logan city didn't care about the mass of college students taking over their park strips! It is a lousy, lousy deal. I'm disgusted by it all. we are not college students, we are not a multiple family dwelling. We are trying our best to live a family lifestyle within our means and be good quality citizens. Why do they want to mess up what has been a great relationship thus far. I believe in revitalizing older beautiful parts of the city such as ours, taking control of cars parked over sidewalks and the white trash front lawns complete with cars parked on them, but what has my family got to do with any of that? Those situations will only increase now that we have no where to park. So much for my dreams of ever owning a second vehicle, as we have not a place to legally park it.

We are innocent, we follow the laws. Yet today, as I came HOME TO MY HOUSE from dropping Liberty at school, I find a large orange X on my park strip! So mad! I did what every normal female would do, I called Mick, told him of our graffiti and cried my eyeballs out while telling him we HAVE TO MOVE NOW! I swear Logan city has got to be the number one culprit in the state of the economic crisis of the nation from all their horrible money management decisions and leadership. I know there are more important issue then telling people where to park. Now I understand why the housing crisis is dragging on! Everyone wants city's such as Logan to stay out of their happy little lives and go bug someone else about an inconsequential idea. But the city's can't seem to stay neutral, so people want out! Empty houses= helping the housing crisis drag on and on. I sure hope Randy Watts and his little sheep are happy with the outcome!

Sorry all you quests that ever want to come over to our house- you are no longer able to, unless you use your foot power or ride a bike- as there is NO PARKING available- ANYMORE! I wish I could take your complaints, but just as the city reacts to our complaints- you have NO SAY! Does anyone have a great house for sale outside the city limits? I would buy it in a heart beat- even without seeing it's condition. My decision would be solely based on living in another city. Any takers? To think I do love Logan so much.

Signed,
a soon to be ex-resident of Logan City (I could only wish so hard)

  1. LAME! I'm sorry, and I do hope that you write a letter to the editor. Our taxes here in IL are steep but it is an old city and to keep the old from getting rundown you need $. My mom grew up in Logan and told me about the day they cut down the big beautiful trees that lined 4th north (street she lived on). Tears were shed then too.
